i got a free sample of the covergirl/olay simply ageless line and i love it! i havent used covergirl for years, opting for more expensive and newer brands, but i am using covergirl again and it might just be a permanent change.
the collection includes foundation, corrector(concealer), eye corrector, and blush. i love every one of these products. they glide on and create a flawless finish. the eye corrector doubles as a primer(my own discovery)and makes eye shadow last without creasing the whole day. the corrector has a yellow base which corrects dark circles-i will take that one on faith-i dont have dark circle to correct, but the yellow pigment corrects any of that annoying redness around the corners of my nose and any blemishes that pop up.
i wouldnt have picked out the color of blush that was given to me,but it was a free sample, so i didnt complain. i just tried it and it was amazing. it added such a beautiful tone to my skin and i have received quite a few compliments on how pretty i have been looking lately. NEVER a bad thing.
since all of these items are formulated with olay regenerist serum-they glide on beautifully and dont sink into any fine lines or wrinkles-it "suspends" over them, restoring tone and texture for a more youthful appearance. i am quoting from the brochure they gave me, but i have found their claims to be true.
the price is pretty amazing too-just 10.00-13.99 depending on what you buy. smoking deal considering the price of make up!

smc loves make up!

lots of us use the new year to start a myriad of make overs. some of us need to make over the inside; trade out old, bad habits for new, more favorable ones. build character and make ourselves better people.

sometimes all we need is a fresh coat of paint. some might scoff at the benefits of changing or updating your look, but i am here to tell you it feels great!
recently i bought two new maybelline(a brand i rarely use)mascaras. walgreens was having a buy one get one free sale and i jumped on the chance to try out their new "lash stiletto". i really like this mascara! it went on so smooth, not a clump to be seen and it actually curled my lashes! seriously, my lashes stick straight out and sometimes even a regular eyelash curler doesnt do the job. i have pretty long lashes, but this stuff fulfilled its promise and made them even longer. almost touching my eyebrows long. they looked really good, not scary or spidery at all. the only thing it didnt do was give a shiny look-which was ok with me.

the second tube of mascara i got was the volume express. it delivered on some extra volume, but i thought it would be a little more. still liked it, just will keep looking for another mascara to really thicken up my lashes.

so....2010 has my baby blues framed beautifully thanks to maybelline and walgreens.

freeway makeovers

the one sentence post over at seriously so blessed got me to thinking about a period of time when one of my best friends was dating tgws's roommate so we would drive over to their house together. we both had worked all day,so we brought clothes to change into and our makeup bags to touch up our faces to look our absolute hottest. or in 80's speak "finest". the drive between where we worked and their super cool(they had a hot tub)bachelor pad was about twenty minutes. mainly by freeway, but being the young and invincible hotties we were, we managed to do full wardrobe changes and complete makeup while driving a minimum of 75mph down a busy freeway. i have vivid memories of shimmying off high heels and nylons from work and pulling on 501's and flats as we sped down the highway. we would toss mascara and lip gloss back and forth to each other, primping and painting as the street lights sped by. seriously, it is a MIRACLE that we never got in a wreck or at the very least pulled over for speeding and unlawful makeovers while operating a motor vehicle. the things we do for love. not to mention vanity. that friend and tgws's roommate have been married for over twenty years now. see? sometimes it works.
