blind date

can i see a show of hands those of you that have been set up by a friend or family member? i never have. there was one guy that might sister thought i might be interested in, but one of my brothers shot her down because he knew the guy to be a little wacko.
one friend said she knew someone in her moms ward that would be just my type, but then they found out some crazy stuff about him.
in both of these cases, i am sure i dodged a bullet, but i have been wondering lately why people dont try and set me up?
maybe they know that the old smc would never go for it, but i am here to tell you that i would go for it now. i am now in a phase where i figure everything i do doesnt work, so why not try something new?

  1. Just broadcast that you are willing to let people set you up. I have been on over 100 blind dates, and in general, they don't work out. I think I only ended up kissing two of them. So the numbers are not encouraging. But if you let people know you are open to the idea, they might be more likely to respond.

  2. the people i would trust to set me up and keep my best interests in mind have 0 access to single men. i just dont want to go all crazy and go on 100 blind dates! i admire you for even getting through it. yikes.

  3. Pshaw, you get to 100 blind dates by going on one blind date at a time (or two - but that only happened once). Plus, blind dates are always going out on a limb a bit. It's much more risky business. You gotta be willing to take the risk and get set up by some people that don't necessarily have your best interests in mind.

  4. risk and me are not friends.
